Hair psychology

Hair. It basically defines who we are and shapes our perception of ourselves and others. We are classified as bald or hairy, ugly or beautiful, merely on the presence or absence of the crowning glory on our heads. We spend a great deal of time in grooming and styling our hair everyday; cutting it, styling it, coloring it, washing and drying it and even crying over it. It is indeed a fact that our hair is very important to us as it drastically contributes to the visual image of males and females of all age groups. Therefore, when a person suffers from hair loss, this factor decreases his or her self-confidence by deterring one’s self-image. Research has shown that the three main causes for hair loss is the presence of physical stress, emotional stress and improper dieting. When a person goes through stress, the body automatically diverts the body’s energy from non life-sustaining activities such as growing hair to activities such as maintaining the health of the vital organs in our body such as the heart, liver, etc. It is precisely why stress promotes hair loss at a rapid rate.
